is the aim of this out of school hours activity programme by raising the awareness of the health benefits of Not Smoking, Healthier Eating and Physical Activity.

Its target group is girls and boys aged 9, 10 & 11 (school years 5 & 6) who will take part in an exciting, practical and fun programme delivered through games, physical activities, making healthy snacks, discussion and with their own football programme style activity book to aid them.

The Fit For Football programme is delivered by coaches from the Football in the Community schemes at Hull City FC, Scunthorpe United FC & Grimsby Town FC and Community Food Workers from the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals Care Trust, Hull and East Riding Primary Care Trust Specialist Health Promotion Service and North Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust.

120 schools in the most deprived wards of the Humber Area have been nominated to take part in this 4 year project with the hope of reaching up to 23,000 children.

Fit For Football is FREE for all the participating schools and is supported by the Big Lottery Fund.

Fit For Football has been developed in partnership with the four Local Authorities and the NHS Family in the Humber region and also other non-statutory organisations including the Humber Alliance on Tobacco (HALT) and HeartWell.
